Seacamp is a non-profit, marine science education facility located on Big Pine Key in the tropical Florida Keys adjacent to Looe Key and Florida's fragile coral reefs. Founded in 1966, Seacamp offers marine science education and summer camp experiences including SCUBA, sailing, board sailing, and arts & crafts to students from 12-17 years of age. Newfound Harbor Marine Institute - The Newfound Harbor Marine Institute (NHMI) program was started in 1970 for the purpose of complementing Seacamp Association's mission to provide experiential marine science and environmental education opportunities. The NHMI program extends these opportunities into the school year, from early September through late May, for students from 4th grade through college level, as well as teachers. Approximately 8,000 participants enjoy the workshops and residential programs at the NHMI field studies center each year.
